The guide said there were some 47 bullet holes visible in the walls, ceiling, floor, etc. ▲

Bisbee Arizona was the heart of the copper mining area in southern Arizona. The mining equipment was crude at best. ▲

When explosives were needed, this is what brought them. ▲

I suspect you had to keep your head low in the tunnels. ▲

A late Spring snow storm left quite a bit of snow on the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake City. ▲

It was a great view at breakfast this morning from the Silver Fork Lodge in Big Cottonwood Canyon ▲

The falls are located just east of Orem, UT ▲

This is the recreation resort developed by Robert Redford in the mountains east of Orem, UT. It is also the location of the Sundance Institute for film actors, directors, etc. ▲

Pictures do not come close to showing the immensity of the rock formations. ▲

A Utah State Park with about 70 sandstone spires. It's a bowl shaped basin with multiple colors of sandstone layers. The basin was named in association with the Kodak company because of the varied colors. ▲

Again some amazingly large sandstone formations. ▲

This is the Virgin river that runs through the park. It was the river that over millions of years created the landscape we see today. ▲

You can get a feel for the immenseness of the sandstone formations by looking at the road in the lower left and right of the picture. ▲

Dead Horse Point is located just west of Moab, UT and gives spectacular views of the canyons created by the upper Colorado River. This is a combination of three photos to create a panorama of some of the canyons. ▲

For an idea of the scale of the formations, the arrows are pointing at two people near the edge of the canyon. ▲

Here's the route for our trip. From Avalon Beach to Texas to southern Arizona to Salt Lake City, to Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park back to Salt Lake City to Moab, UT to Tucumcari, NM back to Texas and return to Avalon beach. With a few side trips here and there, about 6000 miles. Did I say 6000 miles? HOLY COW!!! ▲
